Half banded eels

Hello I’m new to TFF. I’m looking for information on half bandit eels. Everything I read doesn’t seem to apply to mine
I don’t know why. I’ve read they don’t reproduce in captivity. I bought two about four years ago and now I have over a dozen definitely procreation going on

That's a good idea and an interesting use for a plastic bottle. I normally use pvc pipe but bottles are cheaper.

All freshwater eels in the

Mastacembelus group will breed in aquariums. They do it at night when the lights are off and people don't notice. The females are bigger and fatter than males. They scatter eggs in the substrate or plants. The babies are small but in a well planted tank there is usually enough infusoria to keep some of the young alive.

Loaches are the same. Keep them well fed, do regular water changes, let them mature and have a group of 6 or more. They will do the rest.​
