Hair Like Creatures

Hello everyone,

I have a little problem, i cleaned 2 of my tanks yesterday and have noticed that there are hair like creatures in the tanks swimming around. What are these things and how do i get rid of them? i have not seen these before in the past when i have cleaned the tanks. Any help is greatly appreciated

They sound like planarian worms which are part of every tanks eco system but when they become noticable it is a sign that you are over feeding the fish. They are completely harmless but cutting back on the ammount you feed and regular vacuming of the gravel will get them back down to less noticable numbers.
