Hair Grass

HI I ordered from Greenline Aqautics for soem Dwarf hair grass but ended up with 6inch hair grass hehe (not to much of a problem) but just wondering anyone know it's name etc.. so I can read up about it.

I don't think "dwarf" hairgrass is actually that short, its just shorter compared to others. It could be Eleocharis parvula maybe?

I think Greenline sell Eleocharis acicularis, but I am not positive.

Some of your hairgrass isn`t looking too good at the moment. This may be due to the fact that it is the emerged growth that is dying off to make way for the emersed growth, or it needs a little more separating. I suspect it could be both, but what you definitely need to do is cut off all the grass down to substrate level to allow the emersed growth to come through quicker. Eleocharis sp can be a real algae magnet if you don`t get things right at the start.

I have literally had it in two days now.
at the moment I keep messing about with location when I'm 100% happy with placements I plan to cut it off.

Sadly it's larger than I suspected as I do have some grass thats very small at the front (hard to notice at the moment)

I have Tropica`s Eleocharis `parvula` in my Iwagumi, which stays lower than E. acicularis.

so is the Length I have on mine possibly out of water growth?
sorry I'm totally brainless with plants. all I know is I ordered Dwarf hair grass.
