Close to suicide now... had an outburst of hair algae (long green threads) in one of my tanks, and cannot solve it - I have tried removing as much as possible physically... introducing a "siesta" period in the lighting - even chemicals claiming to remove it ! AAARRGGHHHH

Weekly water changes
CO2
Levels are "normal"

NOTHING has changed apart from this plague ! any advice please ?

I find shrimp and nerite snails are excellent thread algae eaters.

I second that. :good:

Not to sure on a blackout working. The algae would have already stored enough energy/food to survive throughtout a blackout.
