I had to kill my gourami today because he appeared to be in a lot of pain. He was barely swimming and when he did it was in very small movements. I then noticed that he had a wound that woesnt there yesterday near his head, a little bump starting by his tail, his fins had holes in them, and his scales were starting to pine cone. I thought it was best to just put him out of his misery. I had my boyfriend kill him. I told him to do it quickly because I liked the fish.

Now I am afraid that my other gourami isn't getting better. I don't know though. His wound was really red yesterday but it is almost all white today. I did hydrogen peroxide on the wound yesterday and again today. He doesn't have the pine cone scales or the white bumps like my other one though, which is good. Does anyone know if it is getting better? I will add a yesterday and today pic.

Looks like its scabbing over to me, so I would say its improving

what are your water stats like, specifically ammonia and nitrite?

when was the last time you performed a water change? How large and how regular are your water changes?

So sorry to hear this... this is EXACTLY how the sore looked on my male D.G 3 days ago, but by doing a 50% water change and upping the temperature to 27 degrees seems to have got rid of it (nearly), as was mentioned above, it scabbed over and has now all but gone.

Terry.

I change my water every weekend 50%. My water stats are fine or appear to be.

Aww, sorry :-( He was beautiful. Gorgeous colours.
