I picked up 3 x 2" Cyprichromis Leptosoma for a tenner M A in Fair Oak! Beat that!!! :hyper:

You can't beat free!

I got a good bargain at my aquarium society meeting last night: 10 2.5 gallon tanks for $2 each. These are the old, stainless steel ones with slate bottoms. They will be good for fry, etc. :)

i always give myself ridicolous discounts the shop makes money on pump, pond and tank sales, a few mbuna are never realy missed :p

it not ilgeal by the way .. the manager lets me do it :p

I feel like I can fit into this topic :p normally ocean rocks are £1 per kilo but got a bargain of £10 for 35k of rock, this lady had it on for 3 days auction at £9.99 and towards then end I bidded for the sake of my cichlids lol  and won! The funny thing when I went to pickup she passed me and my brother the 2 bags of heavy rock that was almost ripping and when it came to paying she acted like it was a business woman, she said 'nine pound ninety nine please' handed over a tenner note and she was going into her purse to give a penny back, we was like don't worry about the 1 pence :good:

To be honest with you I didn't have a clue if the rocks were too much or too less for my 4ft but instead it came out just perfect to fill the tank up with enough spaces for fish to swim around front, top and even back. If you go click on to the website on my sig, on the left side of the rocks it actually looks like a dog with eyes, nose, mouth, body and feet, if you use your imagination you could also see a tail. I didn't know how to set it out other than I wanted the rocks built up in the middle high up and at sides it lowers down, I feel like it has gone better than planned alhamdulillah. All in all it is definitely my best setup ever :D.

ps that is a really nice rock setup there doresy (picture on your writing post).

Ocean rock is best reply so far (as helping one's self to stock does not qualify :shifty: )

come on must be other real bargains out there.

I once found 7 small bottles of Prime in a lfs basket labeled 50p an item

i got about 7ftx1ft of sqaure cut egg crate for ten pounds with a acrylic coral frag holder

but mine was free, its not even stealing :p blah whatever i still win :D

elongatus and demasonis are simply two of the most beautiful mbuna around .... you just cant beat em, without a flavus..

oh yeah and i also got pseudo elongatus sp. neon spot and an elongatus mpanga :D free as always :D

I will tell you a wicked bargain that will beat all yours and err that I mist  lol. A 5ft marine tank with all equipment needed and even live rock, just needed get fish thats it, BOOOM! lol  It was in admag newspaper and I asked them and said your too late and to rub it in she said that was the biggest bargain you would have got lol. Thanks for helping me synodontismultipunctatus by the way. which one would you recommend out of the aggressive puffers? I know Sheffield fish inc will have a variety of them.

now theres a problem.... i never suggested the puffers... i wouldnt know what species is the least agressive and best to risk .. but with most its going to be a risk

at a guess id say collomesus, cause they can group within thier own kind

lol alright no problem :good: I will have a look around and it seems like the SAPs are the only one I can find at the moment so might aswell try these. It has been a problem with all the airport shut lately because of the volcanoe eruption, they all do seem to be opened so bring on the imports :p

I think my big Frontosa ate my bargain fish! I thought the Cyprichromis Leptosoma were too big but i guess i was wrong as they have completely disappeared one by one
