Gurgling Filter

the new filter in my new tropical tank has started gurgling and belching out bubble evrey now and again. is this normal? is air just coming out of the filter media? its freaking me out!!!

is there enough water covering it. mine does it when i do a water change because there isnt enough water to go through so it takes in air as well.

Sounds normal if you've just set it up.

What type of filter is it and what model?

If you give it a shakes it should help the air escape faster, but not too hard as you don't want to affect the impeller.

umm, i guess just make sure nothing is being blocked, make sure the impeller turns properly.

see what others suggest, i dont know much!

What filter have you got? Type, make model.

It can be normal for a new or recently cleaned out filters to have air bubbles that will work out as the filter runs. If you have an external make sure all the pipework and seals are right incase you're getting air in that way.
