hi,
yesterday i was just admiring the fish tank when i realised that the female guppy had quite a bloated stomach. i researched it a bit, but i'm still not sure if she's pregnant or fat or something. could anyone help me on this one? and also if anyone can, can you possibly tell me when they're going to be born if there ARE fry in there? sorry if it's another one of a million pregnant guppy posts haha..
here's some pictures i took just today:

thankyou so much!

I'm thinking preggo as she has quite a big dark spot on her belly. The picture is kind fuzzy so i cannot tell if she is squared off at all. If her body starts looking boxy and she starts to hide, then she will birth at anytime. Has she been kept in a tank with males ever? If so, then she is probably preggo. If you have no males and she was exposed to one, you can expect her to birth for the next 4-6 months depending on last exposure to males.

haha thanks so much! yes we have two males and one female so she is probs prego. i just took her out and put her in a plastic takeaway box, is that okay? and also, do you know when she will have the fry?

How big is your tank? If at all possible, I would add 3-4 more females to the tank. or rehome the males and go for a single sex tank. With you having more males than females, the males will bully the female trying to mate. They can really stress her out and in worse cases, bully her to death. Not trying to discourage you. I am just forwarning you. With livebearers, which have a very high sex drive, it is best to keep the m/f ration at least 1/2 or 1/3. Also, do not put her in a take away box. Putting her is a small restrained area can also stress her out. Bear in mind that guppies can have loads of babies at a time...up to 50 per drop. Unless you have the space to accomadate that many guppies a month, it is best to let nature take its course.

um my tank is 60L (20 gallons?) but there are large and medium sized goldfish there too.. so i'm kind of scared to put her back in because if she gives birth the goldfish will snatch up the fry immediately.. I have about 17 or 18 fish in the tank right now (goldfish, tetras, i think theyre called, the tiny slim fish, two male guppies, one female guppy, one male swordtail and one female swordtale.

i just moved her back into the 60L tank, and here's some better photos of her?

Everything Dieses said to you about guppies also applies to the swordtails. You already have a lot of fish in the tank, without seeing an exact list of exact species, then I don't really want to comment further, but you don't want to add to the problems by being inundated with guppy and swordtail fry.

gold fish really should be in bigger tanks, expecially if you say they are medium and large goldfish. Also if the goldfish do not snatch up the fry, the swordtails and guppies will. livebearers love the taste of their own babies and see them as a snacking opportunity. You really need to get rid of your females or you will be massively over populated in no time. I have 2 males to 7 females and a tank with no hiding places so the fry do not stand a chance (cruel as it sounds, it keep down the population)

I've nearly always had Guppies & generally just used to guess when they were pregnant & ready to drop.

Then I read this by LivebearerMaster;

http://www.fishforums.net/index.php...livebearers-ready-to-drop-fry-updated-150410/

Since then I always look for the white mark near the anal area which indicates the birthing tube has opened. Last night around 6pm I noticed this on my female Guppy so the she was popped in the breeding tank & I woke this morning to 12 Guppy fry.

Personally my advice would be wait until the Guppy looks huge & check for the white mark around the anus area. My Guppy yesterday didn't look square, it still looked round but as though it was going to explode.
