What tankmates could I safely keep with guppies? Could rummynose tetras work with them and possibly their fry? I want fish that are colorful and possibly schooling but I don’t want and other Livebearer fish that aren’t guppies

Guppies are hard water fish so Rummynose tetra who are more suited to soft water wont work here im affraid :(

Do you know what your water parameters are? (Gh,Ph)

What are the tank dimensions (length x width x height)?

How long has the tank been set up for?

Have the filters cycled (developed the beneficial bacteria needed to keep ammonia and nitrite levels at 0)?

The filters have cycled in pretty sure. They have been in use for my other 40 gallon but I switched the cartridges. This is a 36 by 18 by 16 if I’m not mistaken. As for the tank it self I just set it up when I got it Saturday as I had nothing to do.half the water cane from my other 40 and The rest was from my tap water. The gravel was already cycled too

I forgot to mention Cories are out of the picture and I’m looking for a schooling fish. And do you know where to get a white sand that’s pretty cheap but still fish safe

Please don't use white sand. It reflects too much light which is stressful for the fish. A darker substrate is much better for them - it doesn't have to be black, buff coloured is fine.
As you are in the US, look at play sand, that's cheap, suitable for fish and comes in non-white shades.

[Note to add that Australian play sand is different according to Aussie members]

I have come across that mentioned before, but you need to wait for an American member to confirm it.
