Guppy Tankmates

what tanksmates do you recomend for guppies? I tried zebra danios but my population declied cause the fry got eated by the danios. I am thinking platies and neons

Zebra Danios don't work well with Guppies either because they can be fin nippers.

Platies would work. Neons could be a little nippy...but what size tank are we talking, and how many of each fish?

5 3/4 inch neons with 8 guppies and 6 platies in a 20 high

I think that might be pushing it a bit, as they are all middle dwellers. I'd stay with one kind of Livebearer, to cut down on fry, then the neons and maybe some Cories? Or other fish that doesn't stay in the same area.

I've got both neons and harlequin rasboras with my guppies and they all seem to get along just fine. good luck

I keep platys and guppies together in my 3 tanks, and there is no problem with competing for space as they all seem to occupy all the levels of the tank. Platys will eat fry though- but so IME will the guppies themselves.
