Over the last few months I've lost a few of my guppies (male) so decided to re-stock a few last week. I had 3 males and bought what I thought was a further three. On adding them to the tank and realising one was getting hassled I had a closer look and realised it was a female, so hooked her out of the tank and put her in the larger tank, unfortunatley didn't give it a thought that she would be got at. Next morning she's got a raggedy tail and is hiding right at the back of the tank.

So set the hospital tank up and she's happy recuperating in their at the moment, her tail is growing back nicely but is clear!

I mentioned it to the shop I bought them from and their answer was, yes it happens some times, they're hard to spot, but they wouldn't take her back as she was all ripped up.

So the question is, do I have space to up the quanity of females to stop them getting hassled too much.

30cm wide, 60cm long, 40cm high, 65 litres which I think is around 15 gallons. The tank has been running for over 14 months now, with a variety of different community fish and is now running a fluval 2plus internal filter

Current stock:
5 male guppies
5 assorted cory (bronze and albino)
4 cherry barbs

Many thanks
