Hi we put our guppy in a catcher for 2 days and then felt sorry for her and let her out. Then she had the babies whilst we were out! Typical! We have managed to round up about 30 of them and put them in catcher to keep them safe - we did however have one fatality whilst doing this!
Anyway, the guppy is still really black at the back - why is this??

she might not of had all her babys some times if the spooked or getting harassed they can stop and have the rest anouther time

Thanks - she had them yesterday and is still black now so is it possible that there are more to come?

Congrats!
They occasionally have babies in batches from what I've heard. Perhaps you could put her back in the trap for a bit?

Welcome to the forum 6angels.
If your guppy is still quite dark and looks heavy, try a day of fasting. It is not only fry that makes the females heavy and have a dark gravid spot. Overeating can also give them that general look. A day after delivering a drop of 30 fry there are likely to be no more coming soon. There will probably be more in about another month. Guppies do not practice superfoetation like Heterandria do so late arrivals a full day after the first fry are quite out of the ordinary. I won't say that anything is impossible but it is unlikely. Heterandria, on the other hand, usually deliver 1 or 2 fry per day over a period of many days to even a couple of weeks. They are very different fish with a different way of doing things.
