we have had this guppy for about 2 months now and it was not this big when we got it but for about 5-6 weeks now it has just stayed big and square looking.

we did have a male when we got them but he passed away not long after we got them  so i know that she could be pregnant but it seems a bit to long for a guppy to be pregnant from what i have read.

in the pictures u can see the white tube under her back fin, she doesn't look as square in the photo's as she does to look at her.

so is she anywhere near giving birth or is it a long time off.

Hi, I am in the same position with my swordtail (about 2 weeks now) so i will be tracking your post. Iv posted this question on another site so if i learn anything there I will let you know.

I would say she is either fat or pretty close to dropping fry, maybe within the next week :good: although i could be wrong

I think from memory temperture of the tank can also play a part in them dropping fry...

Welcome to the forum Alexis.
Thanks for the comment. I doubt there is still any question after a full year has gone by.
