I have recently looked into getting guppies for my separate 10 gallon tank. Firstly i bought 2 females and a male along with 3 tuxedo platys, 3 glowlights and 4 silver tip tetras. I had the guppies for a day and already lost one female which only had one fin moving and had white blotches. Then my male guppy was very lethargic and on his way out, but had no sign of infection. I then noticed my other female was developing thesewhite blotches so took her back to lfs.

This Saturday gone i decided to get 3 male guppies from another lfs. I woke up this morning and a male has developed this white blotch, another male is hanging at the top but the other one seems fine. All this time my platys and tetras are doing fine. I seem to be an omen for guppies. What is going on?

you bought guppies from poor stock when it comes to guppies or any fish from a lfs
you need to know what you are looking for. spend more time looking at every fish in the tank.
any sick or dying fish then they are best Left well alone. i was in a lfs yesterday in one
tank is very fin skinny platy's and molly's. neon tetra's with fungous. some one come in and bought a molly that was so sick/ fin it will die with in a few weeks. the sad thing is that the tank had not been treated and sick fish are being sold and the customer didn't have a clue what they were buying.

You're right i have only one male guppy now who does look healthy he has no marks on him. When i got homethe two guppies that died did have slits in their tails, but i thought it would repair itself; they were also very skinny for guppies. Not getting guppies anymore though they bring me too much bad luck.
