Hi
My guppies seem to have developed some sort of disease - looks like thorns sticking out of them - i went down to my LFS and they suggested API's General Cure capsules - the package says dose once, wait a day and dose again -I did but there seems to be no improvement... Maybe you guys can diagnose it better or suggest another treatment. Thanks in advance

PS - the pack lists the ingredients as 125mg Metronidazole, 13mg copper sulfate, 8mg trichlorofon

Added pics... this is the one affected the worst

Hi
if your fish looks like a pine cone, then it has a bacteral illness called dropsy, you can get meds what i use is interpet 9 but it depends how long this fish has been ill as to if it will work, im not sure about the treatment your using though.
hope all works out for you.

Went to another LFS - they said it was something called Anchorworms - any suggestions on meds? They recomended carrying on with the same stuff for another 2 doses... Tks

Anchor Worm Identification Link. Click on that and see if that looks similar. Try treating with Jungle Parasite Guard, or Parasite Clear. Also look at your API medications at your local LFS. As you look through them one should list (if your store carries it) Anchor worm at the top of the diagnosis list of diseases/parasites it treats. The medication that lists Anchor Worm first is the one you want to get.

I think it looks like that... i guess i am going to the LFS tomorrow to pick up that Jungle Parasite med... I wonder how it happened - none of my other fish have it...
