My two females are pregnant but I'm wondering what their behaviour is like when they are going to drop?

Immediately before birth they usually get quite grouchy/angry and will chase fish away.
They will seek a lonely place.

They seem to get contractions and they can swim backwards, bend their tail as if they're tensing etc. Then POP.... their bottom looks slightly pointed and out comes the babys.

Hopefully she doesn't turn around and get them, thats heart breaking.

Good luck, a few plants and well fed fish should reduce the chances IME.
Only had 3 births though currently.

Check out my pinned thread in my signautre, it tells u all u need to know in there/

They will become very unsocial
The anal area will slighty open up
The back end of the fish's belly will drop as much as the front causing it to square off.
The gravid spot may darken (not the best indication)
You will see little black dots in the gravid spot (the fry's eyes)
From a over head view, she will look very wide.
From a back or front view, she will be ball shaped

Other behaviour when ready to drop...

The fish will be static in movement whilst dropping fry, (only while the fry is actually coming out)
They may hide away in plants and other areas.
They will dwell on the bottom of the tank.
They will go to corners of the tank (top and bottom)
They may hang around the heater, internal filters, etc.

Well her belly does buldge out at the bottom now, I don't see a dark gravid spit, but I do notice a white tube like open near her bottom fins. She has been hideing or staying at the top.

shes gonna give birth maybe today or tomorrow! get ready!! my swordtail opened her birthing tube and she gave birth that night.my guppies opened their birthing tube and they gave birth that night!!

sorry to report. the female died. she wasn't pregnant at all as you all were saying. she had dropsy. she swelled up big time as she hanged around the surface and her skin was sticking out. at the end she layed on the side dead.

thanks, i'm keeping an eye on the last 2 guppies as the tank resumes it's cycling process :)

Well, I just cleaned the tank and the other fish are fine. But... I found 9 free swimming fry lmao. I quickly removed the two guppies and all plants and started scooping them out. They are in a net box I hope that's okay. Any idea how long they can remain in the net breeder box?

Is it good to only feed them bloodworms dried? It us all protiene and I like them to grow quickly so I can get the net out.
