Okay, so I've to two Mickey Mouse Platys and a few guppies. I bought a female Platy at Petsmart yesterday and they lady said that she was pregnant. I know nothing about Platys and was wondering how can I tell when she is close to birth so I can put her in the breeder. I don't want to stress her out and make her abort. Same goes for the Guppys. I've searched countless hours on Google and Ask.com and can't find a straight answer. I do believe some of my Guppys were pregnant since a few of them had really dark spots on their belly. They have recently lightend, but no fry as been found yet. Can anyone clear this up for me please!! Thanks!! :good:

Breeders stress the fish out more I noticed when used. If your tank has alot of plants the mom can stay in there. Unless you want to be extra protective, take out anything that can eat the fry and leave the mom in the main tank.

To tell if prego the signs are-
round belly
look at the end bottom of her belly if it is really black( gravid spot) she is ready to give birth
SOMETIMES flashing a light or looking at the gravid spot you might be able to see the eyes of the baby fish
