thanks pal but i dnt have the pateince to wait 8weeks to do a full fishless cycle and thanks ill kee them in the main tank but ill keep 3-5 in a breeding net for backup and im at bolton near manchester you.?

Itçs considered cruelty to make an animal live unwillingly in a hazardous or unsafe place. With fish they live 24 7 in their tank water so until a filter bacteria colony is established, they will be living in their own waste which in turn turns into poison, and the chances are they will DIE. If you wish to keep the fish alive and do a fish in cycle then be prepared to do multiple big water changes a day.

P.S Im in coventry

o.k to be fair, fish-in cycling isnt that bad if you do it right, its bad, but not fish deaths if you do it right

It is cruel IMO, another way to do it is get some mature filter media from someone then you won't need to wait half as long :good:

what about them bactria mixes you can get which get bactria into the tank

Most of the bacteria mixes are useless and a terrible waste of fish money. Pandas can go fine with guppies as long as you are willing to run your guppy tanks near the cool end of their temperature range. You might get away with cycling using guppies but the pandas will not survive a fish-in cycle. They can be a bit delicate even after the cycle is complete and the tank has matured for a while. Have a look at the donor list for media and see if there is someone near you that could help. There is a donor link in my signature area.

Fish In Cycle is A BIG NO NO
2 very narrow minded statements there if not biased too.
if a fish in cycle is done properly ie 80% water changes every 6 hours...it is safe...fish are always subject to ammonia in the aquarium and keeping it at the safe level is difficult but can be done...if your a beginner do a clone or fishless cycle...if you know what your doing and your willing to put in the work...then a fish in cycle can be done with no harm to the fish.

Why narrow minded??? It is my opinion!!!

It's not like I didn't suggest something that would help. I don't know anyone who could manage to do a water change every 6 hours

harry-7 yes Cory's can go with guppy's
