Fish Crazy
I see there are similar topics posted, but none that are quite my exact circumstances, and i didn't want to hijack, so sorry if this is somewhat repetitive.
I got 5 guppies, all male, who were getting along swimmingly. A couple of weeks later, i added two more. One of the new guppies was being constantly harassed by the others, so i removed him. Now that he is gone, the second "new" guppy is being harassed. They are in a 55 gallon tank w/7 zebra danios and 6 australian rainbows. The tank is moderately planted. Here are the two options i'm considering:
1) remove the guppy who is being bullied. Put him in my 30 gallon with the other bullied guppy and various community fish. Concerns: What if they just select a new fish to bully? What if the two bullying victims don't get along?
2) add a bunch of female guppies. Would this help pacify the males? Concerns: I have no idea if it would even help. I don't want to worry about fry and i don't want my tank to become over crowded.
Any advice is most welcome!
