Can some one tell me if this guppy will ever drop??/ I am tired of putting her in a breeding net, waiting 48 hrs and removing her. Should I just leave her in it until she drops? Need Advice........She is the blond guppy...or yellow...
Definitely within a couple days, but i think every time you keep moving her back and forth she becomes stressed and doesn't want to have them. Just leave her in one place then she'll relax and have them. She'll probably prefer having them in the tank by some plants for privacy and more room. Just have dense floating plants at the top for the fry to run to when born.
Should I put her in the net again in with the 16 day old fry........
Or leave her in the main tank? See in my signature what is in it. I have 3 large sets of floating plants and 4 large standing ones and 2 small standing ones. Will they be ok left there. I could then net them and put them with the 16 day old fry? Will they be ok in with the older fry??
Don't put her in with the fry she'll eat them, especially around pregnancy she'll be eating more to gain strength for the big day. Let her have them naturally in the tank(this is way less stressful) . When the day comes, have a watchfull eye out for the fry, they will want to either hide in the plants near the bottom or hide at the top if theres shelter there. If you see one, use a turkey baster to suck them up, this works perfect.
You may need to get another tank for all your fry(newborns should be fine with the 16day olds) b/c they will get stunted and not grow as quickly in a smaller area. A 10gallon or even 5gallon would be much better for the fry. I currently use a 5g for one month old fry and under then a 10g for those older than 1 month.
PS: Live moss is perfect for fry to hide in b/c it's dense and it also has microbacteria that the fry can eat on it. Two uses in one
