 this is terrible! My guppy had about 25 fry.. i had seperated them all in a fish net that was still in the tank... they were all doing great.. they were getting so big so fast!... 15 days later they are all droping 1 by 1... what the hell is the problem!!

here is a brief background on my tank...

i started the tank 1 month ago... i have 1 molly .. 4 guppies..

i boght the 1st guppie and she was already pregnant.. anyhow she had all her babys and i took them out and seperated them all 1 by 1...

my tank temp is 80deg and everything was fine up untill last week.. they are all dying! .. what could be the problem?!... the mom and other fish seem to be doing just fine... :-(

How big is your tank? What type of filtration do you have in that tank? Are you putting the fry in another tank or container? If so, did you add a airstone? If it's in another tank, you could use a sponge filter.

i have a 20 gal...

i have a "net breeder" by penn-plex... my filteration is a aquaclear 200 ... temp of tank is 80deg.. .i have a powerhead blowing also... i also have a air pump that has 2 airstones on it that blows all those bubbels but i never installd it becuase it is so loud... what is the purpose of this?... :(

I'm not familiar with the aquaclear, but I'm sure it's sufficient.

The airbubble action of bubbling and popping on the surface causes surface movement, which oxygenates the water.

Since you have have 1 molly and 4 guppies, there fish are not causing to much of a bioload to even be a concern.

Do you test for ammonia, nitrites/nitrates, pH, & chlorine? If so, what are they?

yes i did and they said it was perfect..

i just stuck in 2 of the airstone things on the oposite side of the fry and it is causing a big vibration in the water and a lot of surface movment... is this good? or should i take it out?..

when i had it next to the fry it was causing a very big vibration and they were going crazy.. they could barley swim .. so i moved it to the other side of the tank.. is this useful? or am i wasting my time.. its really loud...

Your water checked out good... hmm, is there a lot of debri in the net breeder? Old food, poo etc. Perhaps that is the problem.

ALASKA

You can also position the net breeder so that part of the flow goes towards the net breeder.

You can also add aquarium salt in the tank. It is fine with livebearers.

nope.. clean as a whistle... its really werid... could it be the tank is not cycled enough?.. ::shurgs::.. i mean they were doing fine for a good 2 weeks.. and now they are all dead.. im down to 4 .. i can acutally count them now.. before it was a mess in there... 1 of them seams to be really scared right now ever since i started up the

"ELITE802" airstones... hes been hiding in the corner... i turnd off my powerhead becuase it was making way to much movment in the water and the fish were going crazy... they seam to be calm now but its the fry that im worried about.. i cant belive i lost that many...

should i leave the tank light on at night when i go to sleep? i turn it off everynight... comon people help me out.. give me suggestions...

the tank has been running for almost a month and a half now..

here is what the tank looks like.. (the airstones are not in at this pic).. but it is located alllll the way on the right side.. by the creamish color decoration.. its all the way in the right hand corner....

also next to the net is not a fish (that is just a picture on the outside of the tank of a betta) so yeah .. dont think their is a big ass betta in the tank.. that is only a picture

What do you feed the fry?

Add the aquarium salt.
i am feeding them crushed flakes... they love it.. and eat very well...

why is the airstone so important?... how long should i leave the airstones in their for?.. i had always thought the airstones were there only for decoration...

Since the filter current hits the netbreeder, this should be sufficient enough. So you can turn off the airpump.

There is also a possibility that this is just a bad batch of fry. I had one from my latest drop looked all deteriated.

Also, you can use a turkey baster to suck up the fry. It makes it easy to get into the tightest corners.
