how do you raise them :hyper: examples food, tank size all that stuff please i need to no  thanks a million B)

depending on the # of fry u hav u cud raise them in the breeding net! and crush your flake food very well and feed them! dont let them out too soon, weight till they r big enough not to fit into adult mouths and can eat large flakes!!! :p

When I had livebearers I always raised the fry in a 10 gallon tank, I wouldn't put them in a breeding net as there isn't much room for them. So this is what I did when I kept livebeares...

-Put the pregnant fish in the 10 gallon (cycled first)
-I used a divider, when she has the fry I moved the female to one side by herself to stop her from eating her fry.
-Fed the babies crushed flakes (the same flakes used to feed your adult fish, or you can get fry food from your lfs whichever you prefer)
-I left the female on the one side of the tank for a few days so she can have time to herself (without the males bugging her again )
-I fed the fry about 5-6 times a day
-Did about 25% water changes every 3 or 4 days

You don't have to use a 10 gallon, but I prefer using a 10 gallon for fry. There's more space for them to swim ;)

I also agree on the ten gallon. I've been doing this for years and breeder traps or nets have only caused problems for me.

Fed them lightly 4 or 5 times a day. I fed mine crushed flakes, hard boiled egg yolk, and baby brine shrimp. Be sure to do weekly 30% to 50% water changes, depending on tank size and the amount of fish you have in it.

Keep the temperature warm, doesn't have to be high, but warm. That keeps some parasites at bay and speeds up their growth.

Good Luck! ;)

I have gup-fry right now. I feed 3-5 times a day, first in the morning finely crushed flakes. Then later, crushed freeze dried blood worms (<--they LOVE these!), and in the afternoon a tiny bit of hard boiled egg. And finally, right before bed, another little bit of crushed flake. Hope that helps a bit!
