O.K. Just got back into fish. Got some guppies from a friend. When I got back home female that he just gave me had fry in bag. Put fry into 1 gallon tank with fresh water that I had out. Put live grass in tank. Fry doing good for 2 days added sub-heater feeding fry same food as I feed all others ,grind flake food into powder.saw fry eating no problem. Had air hose in tank no filter.woke up next morning day3 fry dying.what did I do wrong so I will not do it again .Thanks

A 1 gallon tank is too small for any fish, period.

Was your tank cycled? Did you do daily water changes? (Dechlorinated and temperature matched)

Babies need to be fed at least 3 times per day.

Likely, they are being poisoned by ammonia in the water.

If you have a fully cycled larger tank, your fry are better off in there free or in a breeder net.

Also, read the links in this section on cycling.

even with a cycled tank for the fry, you have to do lots and lots of water changes to keep the water clean :)
