hey everybody, recently my beloved female guppy gave birth to only 2 fry, (one entirely plain and the other plain with a black pattern in tail and fins), 2 days later she died and she had a seriously bloated "rear end"
my questions are:
1: Is 2 fry a small number?
2: Do the colours on the fry mean anything?
3: Why did she die?

Thankyou in advance

Two fry is a small number, but some fry could have been eaten, or she might have been a young female; they have smaller litters than more mature females do.

The colours on the fry don't mean anything; it's just the way they come out, like people's kids having different hair and eye colours.

There's no way of telling why she died; did you test the water at all? Did she show any symptoms (white spots, furry patches, bloating)?

well thankyou for your answers and p.h was neutral and no symptoms.

Testing the Ph of your water isnt enough, you need to be testing Ammonia, Nitrate and Nitrite. Do you have a testing kit?
