Finally got a seperate tank for my baby fishies, mermaid one from P@H on sale today :D, Ive got some of those "supa natural fern" to give the fry plenty of cover. Just waiting for water to warm up, i have swapped some media over from main tank to this one.

Anyone have any tips in general for them?

Im just waiting for parents to "have a go" cos ive got another tank lol

Some info taken from my website:

If you want to raise fry it is advised to put them in a rearing tank, they will be in the rearing tank until they are big enough to not be eaten by the adults. When they reach this size (by about 6 months or more) they should be put in the tank with the adults. For raising fry they will grow better if raised on proper fry food. This is because of the nutrition in the fry food is different to the adult food, fry need a higher protien requirement to grow so there is more protien in the fry food. Fry can be raised on adult flake but they will not grow as well. Live or frozen food is also important to fry to grow so you should feed them something like daphnia or baby brine shrimp.

It is recommended that you have two tanks one community tank, it's purpose is to keep the males and females in between broads so they can mate again. The other tank will be a rearing tank to raise the fry until they are one quarter of their adult size, then when they reach this size they can be put in the community tank with the adults. The community tank should be 25L (5 gallons or more) but preferably bigger.

Breeding to increase the number of fish is easy you just get male and female guppies( a ratio 1 male to every 3 females makes them breed better.) and put them in a tank and wait for babies, its that simple! But you should add some plants, bushy ones so the fry can hide. There are breeding methods such as put the very pregnant female in a breeding net in the rearing tank so the female can't get out of the net and the fry slip through into the tank. Then the female is put back in the community tank to mate again.

Hope this helps :)

Ok thanx, i just wondered if there was anything special i have to do, but yeah was very helpful

A few things to add to what DuckAndDive said.
It has been shown that protein can indeed make a difference in growth rate but only up to about 40% protein content in the food. Fast growth is far more dependent on large and frequent water changes.
I find a suitable tank size for rearing a full drop of fry is at least 20 gallons unless I intend to separate the males and females as soon as they can be sexed.
Although it may take as long as 6 months to fully develop a show quality guppy's finnage, you can get a very good idea of a guppy's final color and finnage at about 4 months of proper care, including frequent large water changes. A guppy fry can easily be placed with adult guppies at 4 weeks of age with no problems if it is growing properly.
A serious breeding program does not rely on large female numbers to enable proper care. Instead a carefully chosen one or two virgin females is placed with the target male long enough for mating to be certain and is then removed to a separate tank where the drop can take place. On the other hand, hobby breeding, just to see what you will get, can indeed be carried out by simply observing a decent ratio of males to females in a mixed "community" tank.
