I have loads of various sizes of guppy fry in my female tank. All fry have been sand color before getting color up until 3 have suddenly come along dark... so, they've been a fascination to me.

I have noticed this one seems to have a really thin tail and I can't figure out if that is its tail shape or if its clamped (none of my other fish in this tank are clamped).

Oh phooey. My dark babies seem to have problems then. This one, another has a bending spine and the third seems fine.

I have about 50-60 guppies in the tank (most being small fry) and no others are having troubles.

I may say its sick :( as my friend tolled me one of his platies tail was clamping up into a triangular shape then it died so this may show its unwell

Hi I had put in my guppy fry journal about the problems I am having with my fry. I lost all my endler fry as their tails started out normal then thin, then went to a point then they died.
I recently found fry and put them in the trap and one of them died with the same symptoms but I am finding their bodies go into an arch shape too. The other 4 seem fine but I don't know what causes it.

I suspect this little guy has died as I can't find him anywhere now.

I've had overall great luck with raising fry. I've had 4 or 5 die out of probably near to 200 that were born in my tank. I've had two with bending spines (including the one I mentioned above), and I've had one conjoined twin.... all others have survived.

Bending spines mean tuberculosis.

I have looked briefly online about TB as well as some pictures and it doesn't seem to be the way my one fry is (nor the other). I've always assumed that ones such as this are this way due to how they may have been before uncurling (as both where not straight to begin with).

How can you tell the difference? In the pictures I see online the spines appear to be curving in the middle making the heads and tails appear to be slowly going downward. For my fry, its head is at a normal position but the back end is tilting upward (as though it might eventually be L shaped).
