well as im sure some of you know i have 8 guppy fry. when i fed them last night i noticed one was nearly twice the size of the others(strange aint it) and he(hes already big enough to be able to tell hes a male) has some coloring already, 2 spots simmiler to a 3 spot gourami and a faint blueish tint to his skin/scales. he is now swimming around with the big boys :D. the other 7 are doing great, real active and eating everybit of food i give them

Bless him! Only thing I wil say is make sure that the others are getting enough food as by the sounds of it he is eating a lot!!

actually i have already seperated him for that reason...thats what i meant by hes swimming with the big boys now. the little thing is so cute he acts just like my 2 full grown males its halarious(SP) thanks sarah :D

funny how the little guys act bigger than they really are  . sorry cant get a pic....no digital camera and even though at walmart i can have them put the pics on a disc i have no idea when i can get film for my regular camera :*)

I am having fry as we speak. I have gotten 5 fry in the breeder and she seemed to have paused for the past 4 or so hours. I will get pics ASAP i will post them on my website on the topic CHECK OUT MY FISH.

thats great, userally you see atleat 1 or 2 out of teh whole pack that ends up growing extreamly quick, the others will be fine, they are just moveing along at a slwoer pace, good luck

i just released a platie fry with some neons. he schools with them and bosses them around it so cute!

update: all of my fry are doing great. the male has really great colors(mix of neon blue, neon green, and neon orange and 2 black spots) and the other seven appear to be female :D

Yay, good to hear! :D

Just a warning though, some males look like females for a long time....so don't count on them all being females, they may be late developing males! Just telling you, since I'm guessing you are seperating the males and females to prevent inbreeding?

ya i am seperating them. the reason why i think they are female is becuase they all have 2 tiny little black spots where they should be in a pregnant female(cant remeber what its called). a little courious, do all females have these all the time and they just get larger when they are pregnant, or is it possible my male impregnated them all before i seperated him?
