i've got some recent guppy fry :)

i had 16, now im down to about 12. one has died every day for the last few days.

is this a normal kinda thing?

im a bit worried that they're not eating their food properly. im feeding them on hikari first bites, which my last lot of guppy babies were fine on.

i had 10 fry in my last lot, and managed to get 5 healthy adults out of thme.

should i be worrying that this lot are dying so fast?

what else could i feed them other than what they are on now. they just dont seem to interested, and leave a lot on the top

(this kind of thing should realy be in the livebearer section but...)
If there's somthing amiss in your water stats, however minor, that would explain the fry deaths as they are very sensitive to these things so recent nitrite, nitrate and ammonia stats would be useful :)
Also if the fry are inbred or the mother had difficult stressful birth and the fry came out weakened, that would also explain the deaths.
Also fish in your tank will be trying to eat them at night and day so they may have just died of stress/shock.

sorry i forgot to say they are in a floating tank in the main tank.

the mother died after giving birth,so that may be why.

and my stats always show high nitrate (my tap water is high in it) but the fish are normally ok.

Is the net directly under the tank lights? you should always use somthing to shade them.
What are your nitrite and ammonia stats?

i dont have any test kits, so i cant give stats sorry.

the lights are at the back of the tank, rather than on top.

as i say, everything is being done as before, when i got 5 adults out of it
