I was wondering, my guppy just had babies yesterday, as with my mollies, I only found 1 guppy fry though,
I was wondering how long it will take to see when it's a male or female, because I want to breed it with one of my other guppies from my other tank...
How old are they when they can start breeding?

I have the 5 mollies and the 1 guppy in the same breeding trap/net
will they mate with each other when they're old enough? Cuz I don't want them too!
When can they be let out?

I've heard 1 month for males and 3 for females!

and by 3 months they will be fully mature with colours and everything

although somone might come along and correct me...

Guppies are one of the earliest maturing fry. At a month or a bit more you should have sexually mature fish. They will not look mature to you but will be able to breed if they can find a willing partner.

Whats the male/female ratio when having fry? Are they usually females produced by the mother or are they more males?
Cuz I always end up with females for some reason, I had 5 guppy fry before, only 1 was male, the other 4 were females...

Yes just to clarify the comment above :)

Although I do believe if a female uses sperm that she has stored from a while back, the chances of the fry being females largely increase ( please correct me If i'm wrong)

Well, I've had the exact opposite! Most of my babies are male! I do have to say that jackyb07s4 could be on to something :) It could have something to do with the gender of the fry.

Im going with my experience of keeping stick insects! Used to keep a few in the school science lab and managed to keep several generations. The female stick insect doesn't need a male but if she has no male, she can only produce female babies.
