78F = 25.5 C

I am keeping mine on 26 - 27 C and they do really well!

They are currently in cold water would 26-27 be too big a shock??

How cold is your water? I would not put them from cold water into warm water too quickly, but you could add a heater to heat the water up slowly

Im putting the heater in tonight so at the moment it is cold.
can you talk me through it please.

sure, no problem. Here we go: slowly put the heater into the water and gently press the suctioncups so it will stay in place. Set the temp to a bit above your current watertemp and plug the heater in. There you go!

How big is your tank? Do you have any way to check the current temp? What kind of heater do you have? I'd be happy to kick you thru this! eh I mean talk you thru this
