Okayy so im rlly confused here..ive seen pictures of endlers with a black spot on their sides and where females have their gravid spots but these black spots only happen on my males..so they do not go away anymore they became part of their color..but i never seen guppys like this?? R they endlers? Also they have a clearer body then guppies do.
I also have one of these fry who seems to be growing a sword? Its been getting longer and longer..nevrr had a sword tail in this tank.and cannot find endlers around here either..i will try to get pics but in the mean time can u help me with the color situation???

Pictures would help ID the fish, though it could just be a guppy/endler cross. :)

I have endlers with a color pattern that sort of looks like a short sword. When I look closely I can see the bit of transparent tail that makes the whole thing a more normal shape. What do you thin of this guy? He is a wild that has simply been selected from my endler colony for his unique color pattern.

It is hard to see in that grainy picture but the transparent tail extends about 1/2 to 2/3 the length of that apparent tail extension. The bottom ray does stick out a bit but not nearly as far as it looks.

Well mine isnt that color..it doesnt have the green color or that huge black spot but everything else is pretty similar..also the sword on mine is like --- big and it looks exactly like that..i wonder how my guppy got part endler in it!? I have never seen endlers around here.. On that endler i cant see the transparent thing but on mine i cam sorta see it.. The tail is like a fan tail than it has the stubby sword?

The reason you can't see it on my pure endler is because his picture is a terrible quality. I took a picture that included several inches square, maybe 8 or 10 inches, and cropped it down to make him more visible. In the process I lost a lot of the sharpness of the picture. He also has a tail reminiscent of a delta tail, but not really a clean delta. After all, he is simply a selected wild, not a highly developed line bred fish.
