Hey guys, new to forum I hope this hasnt been covered before....

Although Ive had no difficulities breeding cory's tetra's etc im at a loss with guppy breeding.

Basically the question is: WILL A FEMALE ENDLER (PURE) CROSS BREED WITH A MALE GUPPY?

Many mentioned cross breeding with opposite sexes but will the female endler get pregnant by a male guppy?

The female endlers (6 of) are 4 months old and are about 14-18mm long: The male guppies (2 of) are 1 year old and are 4cm long.

How do they reproduce? Never had endlers before and i missed my molly / guppy breeding until i had fry..

They are in a 25l breeder tank heated @ 24oC fine gravel with 1 live grass + an air line
Please help me :) Cheers guys

John.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Ive heard that female endlers sometimes encounter difficulties in birth as the fry are large is this true?
Is it a bad idea to breed female endler and male guppy? - Or should i just use female guppies and male endlers?

I presume the pregnancy will be somewhere inbetween the 23 days (endlers) and 28 days (guppies)...?

They have been together for 2 days now but the males dont seem to take much intrest in the female guppies - they seem to still want to play with the other guppies in the other tank next to them.

Any ideas when (and how) i can tell if theyre pregnant?

Thanks - I aplogise if i sound stupid :D

Welcome to the forum NeonBreederXxX.
The female endler will be quite happy to cross with a guppy. The gestation period seems to run closer to guppy times than endler times but either way you are at a month or less. The fry of guppies are small enough not to really cause an endler female any trouble. The result of crosses is hard to predict but some of these crosses turn out fine while others are a major disappointment.
