how can i improve the color of my guppies? im thinking brine shrimp or any shrimp larva, but i dont have any shrimp yet.

feed them a varied diet.

use colour enhancing food. Blueberries and orange & purple carrots can be juices and food soaked in that. Paprika is regularly used to enhance red, orange and yellow colours in birds and fish.

give them some natural sunlight.

they have indirect sunlight and do i just drop some paprika in there and let them eat it? i have color enhancing food, alage wafers and hikari fancy guppy, and flakes. can i use raspberry because i dont have a blueberry buch and i dont like to eat the remaining blueberries haha

The only way fish get exposed to natural sunlight is if they are put outside in a pond that is in the sun.

With paprika you sprinkle a small amount on some frozen food and mix it in, then feed it to the fish. For best results you need to do this each day.

You can use any fruit (apart from citrus) that is red, purple, blue or orange. Blackberries and raspberries can be used. Raspberries will encourage red colouration and blackberries will enhance blue colours.

Just to but in, I was using the Aquarian Tropical food, To be honest i have used it forever so god knows why ive never changed it. But when i bought some Guppies a while back, i noticed the colourings looked dull after a few weeks so i looked at other foods.

Anyway i now use the Tetramin flake aswell as the supplements they have always had but now they seem to have a bit of a shimmer to them, bit like a metallic painted car compared to a base colour

I now realise the Aquarian food is total rubbish, i have never looked at the food side really cos i give them live foods 2 times a week so never thought about it, i just assumed if they are eating it, They enjoy it, So they must be healthy
