i have only a 20L tank with two guppys and 3 amano shrimp with a few live plants, i have followed the cycle advice and my water is fine but, one of my guppys has a slight humped back, (hes always had this) and occasionally has a very slighly swollen belly in comparison to the other one, at night he 'rests' on the surface of the tank, but today he is still, and at the bottom inside a cave, he is pooing ok, i turned the light on and he woke up had a swim round then went back to the bottom, i cant see any scale defects or white spot, he swims straight too, there is no fin rot either, i believe they are both males, could it be just old age as you just dont know how old they are when sold, or am i missing something obvious?

forgot to say i do regular water changes and 'hoover' the gravel weekly :good:

the humped back could be just a growth defect form birth but i have no idea about the funny behaviour sorry buddy :)

found him dead this morning. the other one seems fine, will he be ok on his own with just the shrimp for company? im a bit worried about getting another one incase that one dies too

I had one pet store tell me that my guppy would be fine on her own, but that was a lie. I nearly lost her because she was alone in a 10 gallon tank. As soon as I introduced some friends she made a full recovery...
