One of my guppies has died, found her at the bottom so i have 2 males and 1 female, the question is, do guppies always stay at the top of the tank and dont dart around the tank!

my guppies like to swim wherever they think there might be some food... i'm not really sure i understand the question but guppies don't typically swim very quickly unless they feel threatened.

I'd try and get 3 more females ASAP, the males will harass the females terribly. Check the water levels of ammonia etc.

guppies usually swim around the tank

if they stay near the tank, it's a sign sometime is not ok

maybe add an airstone if there is a lack of oxygen or test for ammonia/nitrites too, just to make sure everything is ok

But seriously.....

I always thought these fish liked to stay around the upper levels of the tank. It would be cool to have a large tank with nothing but guppies at all levels. Anyone ever tried that?

BTW - sorry for your loss. I'd also check the ammonia/nitrite levels....something is wrong.

My guppies swim around where there's food, but majority of them majority of the time hang out near the top in one corner where the food usually drops. They rush to that area when they see me.

I have to male guppies and they usally hang around in the top half of the tank, thay usally rest on the bottom when the tank light is out though. As soon as the light is on again they are back at the top.
