hi i am waiting for a bunch of fry to come along and i have 4 guppies and 4 neon tetras, will the 4 guppies eat all the fry? and do neon tetras eat guppy fry? also i have had my guppies and males together for 3 and a bit weeks now long until they are pregnant and start getting fatter?

thankyou

basicaly yes they will eat most of the fry, but a few should surive if u have a some hideing places under rocks and in plants.

neons eat fry. i saw on eat on of my fry it swallowed it down halfway, then the fry started flapping, then it spat it back out and swallowed it hole.

oh kk well im not trying to save them all but the first fry i get im going to see how many survive and see if i can give them to my local fish shop and if thats succesful i will save as much as possible as i can next time. Do u think 1 plant,a mini shipwreck and a log which they can go through and hide in, would that be enough hiding places? i might get a pic tomorrow actually.

I think a few might survive there. My guppy actually had her fry and i had many hiding places but none survived :( I think te plants are the key, because they are realy good hiding places

Guppies will eat their own fry, but because of their relatively small size compared to other livebearers, the fry quickly outgrow the mouths of the adult Guppies. Given a few hiding spots they can access, Guppy fry are the easiest to keep out of the mouths of adults, as long as they are also Guppies.

i havr gravel but i am trying to find some pepples because someone said there good for hiding places for fry

when u are cleaning ur tank most off the time they burrie themself in the gravel. i cleaned my tank out and i used one of those hovers and i found eight. always look at the glass and see if any are pressed againist the screen. i always find some.
