how old do guppies have to be before they breed?

and my new guppies are on the gravel doing nothing ? why is this

they need to be round 7 months old

if u just added them then they might be getting used to the new tank

or your water is not good quality or you have only males or only females

Males get colour from about 3 months and can breed from around 3.5 - 4 months and females can start to breed from about 4-5 months

Their on the gravel, how fast are their gill's moving normal, slow, fast?
Is it dark?

water qualities all good. i have a trio in there. one of the females sometimes breathes fast. the tank has oxygen so that's not a problem. oh and shes got really bllack eyes. and she shakes abit if thats how you describe it

guppies usually sit on the gravel. Mine do it and I've heard of other people who have experienced this. It's sort of like they're sleeping. Turn on the lights and in a coule of minutes they'll start swimming around again.

Yep, my guppies rest on the bottom at night time. I also have one female has great big black eyes, it looks nice

It sound like stress. Check your water stats and post them. It might be ammonia or nitrite.

both the females have pink gills? whats this? how does it get better? i bought them like that
