Guppies in a small tank

I am going to get some guppies (5 guppies) from a friend and I have decided to keep 2 of them in a small 1 gallon tank. Three of them are large enough for my larger tank (10g with platies).

The two are babies.
The one gallon will be treated with chemicals but wont have a filter or heater

Is this okay...

Guppies are very tough but going by where you live the water might be too cold. Maybe someone who lives closer could give you better advice, I'm not sure.

I could buy a heater for them but it would get way too warm... and the heater would take up alot of space.
