Guppies Have Been Pregnant For Months Now!

My guppies have been getting steadily bigger over the weeks

Deffo pregnant. But my question is can they choose when they give birth or do they just come out regardless of the mums willingness?

To answer your first post, there is no way a guppy can hold fry for more than maybe 5 weeks, at rather low temperatures. At typical temperatures, she can only carry fry for about 4 weeks. If you have not seen fry for much more than the 4 to 5 weeks, you have simply missed a drop. It happens way too often but people will always deny that it could have happened to them.

Found 5 or 6 first an thought tht was it

Did a 100% clean out today

Gravel, all water out, all plants out etc

Found another 10 or so fry

Got 60% clear colour and 40% are a really dark colour

Hopefully il find some more in the tank in the morning!
