Hi, I had one male and two female guppies which have bred like wildfire with all of the babies surviving therefore have been trying to home all of the off spring. At what age can you tell the sex of the guppies. I am lucky that both the female and the male guppies are very colourful but it doesnt help to try and id them. So far they have produced over 80 babies and I still have another 15 to home as I only have a 30l tank.

If you can get good growth, you may be able to sex them at about 2 months but that means rapid growth. Otherwise you are probably looking at 3 or more months.

They are growing rapidly I think I can tell now from the picture you have shown. They are all such lovely colours. How many will be ok to keep I still have 25 left after rehoming all the rest. I am not sure why I have managed to get so many fry when most people say they get eaten. I didnt even separate mine, my tank is 35l

A 35 litre tank is about the size of my breeding colony tank. I allow the numbers to reach about 10 adults plus lots of fry before I scoop most adults out to sell them. That way my colony is always fairly young and robust and it gives me some breathing room before I need to do it again. This is the tank shortly before one of those scoops were removed.
