Guppies Are Breeding Too Much

Hi

Can you help me out here, I have a 60L tank and i have 5 adult guppies ( 3 female 2 males).
I now have over 20 baby fish and they wont stop breeding, any tips to stop them breeding without killing any fish?

How bout just leaving the fry in there to be eaten?

The fry are in the same tank and the adults are not eating any of them! Is there anything else i can do?

Remove the females (or males). No other way I'm afraid.

Or take a bag along to the local fish store if they're interested? If the fry are likely to turn out pretty in their colours, the shop may well take them. They probably want them a little grown though.

The only way ethically is to split the sexes apart. or you could purchase a fish that likes to eat the fry.

Unfortunately you have purchased five of the randyest fish known to man. I would take the offspring to the nearest LFS (check with them first of course). You wont get anything for them but at least they will get rehomed.

I get about 50 cent's per guppy here. How big are they. If they are babies, only aorund 10 will make it to selling size.

You could always offer them on here for free....there are always people on the look out for stock.

Another thought would be to split the tank with a tank divider......then you could have the males in one half and the females in the other (if you wanted to keep all of them).

I used to have the same problem but i stuck a beta and a hoplo catfish in there and voila no more babies.

split em up or get a bigger fish to finish em...
im looking for some nice guppy fry in future....
