My dragon tail guppies i think are trying to mate with my female sword tails is that alright and how can u tell when the sword tails are pregnant? If their not trying to mate then there trying to eat them are they alright to keep together?
 
They will try to cross breed but it's impossible to do.
 
Swordtails are a bit harder to judge than many other poeciliids. Although they show a squaring of to a degree, it is nowhere near as pronounced as you will see with things like mollies. I still find that using body shape is my best way to judge swordtail pregnancy although their shape changes are a bit more subtle.
