Someone has mentioned multi tanks but that is not going to be possible. My friend inbred a lot just to keep some fish in her tank. Possibly thats why they die off. I am really asking do people give them away and where? Buy sell swap is one. However there are not many people near me who would want some.

Kinda counting before Mine will almost all get eaten.

The problem with inbreeding is that any genetic weakness is going to be twice as likely to be inherited. With guppies, which can breed at 3 months old, this can get quickly mean that the strain gets weakened; after a year you may already be onto the third or fourth generation of inbred fish.

I am fortunate enough to have several tanks, so have split up my platies and guppies according to gender. Eventually I may get a new male and let some females become pregnant by him. (I can't afford to let all 11 females born in my tank become pregnant in their turn and maybe go on to have 7 pregnancies from one mating- it all adds up.)

If you cannot do keep them separate, the best way is to try to pass some on. Have a word with the lfs in your neighbourhood, advertise them on here.

You could give them away or swap them with someone local?
