Hi , today I purchased an air pump, the reason being that I have a breeding net with fry and wanted a bit more circulation in the tank. I purchased the Tetratec APS100, apparently for tank volume 50-100l, no hose or airstone with it so after another couple of quid spent I went home and set it up, bloody noisy, not exactly "Extremely quiet and powerful" as it says on the box.
Is this normal with all air pumps ?
I have it on a laminate floor so I put it on top of a towel to muffel it a bit.
Also should it be on top of the tank ? Was thinking if I have a powercut will the water syphon back down the tubing, will I need to buy a special valve ?
