Fishaholic
I'm a student in university and as such a have a limited amount of time allotted each day to caring for my tank but now I have to higher a baby sitter. It seems that I have a matting pair of Schhreitmuller's Metynnis in the tank on the top of one of my in tank filters I found today about a batch of at least 40 eggs. Now the fish I have that could possibly have done this are white skirts (but by the size of the eggs I don't really think so), cories (very sleepy I don't believe have the energy to pull this off) and the Schhreits (which seem very preoccupied with that corner). Sadly to say I don't have a tank to accommodate a bunch of fry nor do I have the tank room for when they grow up.
I am hoping to lobby the Canadian government to investing money towards "The Fish Pill" or the manufacturing of appropriate size contraception devices.
In the mean time I'll sit back and watch their ballet in the tank and wish for their breeding season to end quickly.
