Hi

Hope you can help - its not my tank its my partners so cant answer the chemical questions. I do know that he took a sample of water to the local fish shop recently and they said the water was clean and not showing signs of anything wrong.

His ram has a funny looking growth coming from its eye. Its light pink in colour the fish is ok in itself swimming and feeding happily. i have tried to attach a pic.

Tank size: 60l
pH:
ammonia:
nitrite:
nitrate:
kH:
gH:
tank temp: 76

Volume and Frequency of water changes: he changes it once a month at about 25%

Chemical Additives or Media in your tank: none that i know of

Tank inhabitants: The ram in question, a orange spotty plec, a pink cory, a sliver shark, 2 cardinals, 2 neons, 1 silver barb? 1 yellow guarami

Recent additions to your tank (living or decoration): plants: 1 green striped (like a spider plant) 1 red leaf and 1 big green leaf plant

Looks like cotton wool disease to me, not 100% sure though.

Nasty.
Columnaris can come in a pink colour.
I would treat the fish with a bacterial med, can you isolate the sick fish.
Can't make the pic out to well, just want to make sure the pink growth dosn't look like a cauliflower growth.

hi
thank you both for replying.

He doesnt have another tank this is his first one. Can he treat the whole tank or does he really need to get another one to be on the safe side?

In answer to the cauliflower questions no it doesnt its quite smooth

thanks again hope you dont mind helping again

I would treat it as bacterial then.
Good luck.
