Hey everyone, been a while since I've posted. I've learned a lot from the forum as I've had my tank for 8-9 months and after an unstable few months, my tank is doing very well.

Quick question, I've noticed that theres an algae looking growth coming from my filter. It's been there for a few months and hasn't really caused any damage (No fish deaths). I attached a picture.

Should I be concerned? What should I do?

-Thanks

The thing is it's a "biobag" brand filter and it takes filter cartridges. I don't want to just put a new one in because it'll lose all of the bacteria I need from the old filter. Does anyone have any experience with these filters?

When you do a water change, take the cartridge out and rince it in some old aquarium water, wipe the crud off the filter and replace the cartridge.
