Growing Glosso?

Just wondering if i would be able to have the nice carpet effect?? im thinking no sadly since its quite a tall tank.

83gal (uk)
160watts(4 x 40w bulbs, 2 of these also have full length reflectors on)
dosing with tropica plant nutrition once a week
at the moment have DIY co2 running, but upgrading to pressurised next month

the tank is 24" tall though

what type of lighting is it? if they are T5's or metal halides then they will be fine. wait until the pressurized system comes though, and it might be worth upping the dosing to daily or evey other day.

they are T8's, I'm also going to get another 2 reflectors for the other bulbs. Yeah i was going to wait until next month anyway as my co2 is fairly instable at the moment!

any advise on dosing daily/every other? didnt see anything about it in the dosage instructions? Sorry for all the questions, i'm still learning when it comes to planted tanks!!

Also i just have gravel so no nutrients in there other than waste and a couple of root tabs

with it being a large tank the lighting levels are ok but it is the depth, that is the problem

i dose 2.5ml daily on my 60l so if we times that by 6 = 15ml daily

you can up or lower this depending on plant & algae growth etc. or you can dose 15ml every other day.

yeah thats what i was worried about

at the moment im dosing 45ml every week so would work out a tiny bit more for 15ml every other day but will give it a go when i get the new co2 set up!

i'm tempted to just buy the plant and see but to be honest i just think its going to grow upwards due to the hight of the tank

I would dose 6ml weekly normally, but i dose daily so it works out at 18.5ml! better for the plants though.

Thanks for that! seems like a better option!

Just had a thought though, would this be a problem with other plants that are planted in the tank? obviously not to the moss and java fern that planted on the wood but to everything else in the gravel?
