i have an 5 gallon tank that i am now using to grow my own plants to save some money.
so there is
2 crypt wendtii "green"
1 crypt wendtii "red"
1 jungle val
small batches of dwarf hairgrass (not permanent)
some java moss
1 amazon sword (not permanent)
1 cherry shrimp (to keep down algea)

the light s 25w so it is approx. 5 watts per gallon (high light, therefore the cherry shrimp for the algea problem)
no co2
no ferts
only flow comes from internal 6.6 gallon filter.
2 inches of carbsea floramax substrate

so does anyone know how to propagate the crypts and jungle val?
the crypt wendtii "red" has already had sprouts, but they were green for some reason, anyone know why?
the jungle val have a 1 inch sprout now, even though it is only about 5, 6 nches high.
anyone know how, when i should seperate the sprout from the jungle val?
the crypt "red" has already had a sprout but when i picked it up to see how it was connected, it wasn't so i put the sprout in my 60 gallon
so anyone how how often then would sprout etc.?

the vallis will just pull off, there will be a single thread joining them. it is very brittle and will break easily. i find that if u leave them connect it will send out more runners/sprouts if ur trying to get more that is. by separating them it will slow down the propogation (sp?). the wendtii i beleive do separate on there own, wen i changed from gravel to sand i notice my wendtii seemed "too" close - from how i had planted them anyway, i now suspect they were babies that had grown away from the parent plant.
