See man! That fish is beutiful! I want one damnit! :grr: what size tank is bubba in???

My Oscars have eatin many plecos. And the green terror IMHO is the most viciouse cichlid their is. So im shure he would get beat up. I was thinking a Blue Fresh water Lobster

The only way an oscar would eat a pleco is if the pleco could fit in his mouth so that was your fault for putting the small pleco in with the Oscar. Pleco's are the only def compatible tankmate for any cichlid. They have armored scales and if stay larger than the cichlids mouth, will live a good life in a cichlid tank swimming around eating up all the scraps that the messy cichlids drop :good:

I personally have a chocolate pleco in with my JD and they are as happy as can be. They are often in the same part of the tank and enjoy eachother's company I think (as they are the only two fish in the tank). I think it helps like any other stocking if you grow them together.... They will get used to eachother and expect the other fish to be there.

3 Month old pic of JD and Casper :D

Love your plec  he's just like Wide Boy, my chocolate albino common plec (which is what I think yours is btw, chocolate plecs are a different species) ;) The chocolate part of the name comes from the colour, chocolate albino, rather than it's species name. They're just common plecs in chocolate albino colour. Beautiful fish :good:

Here's Wide Boy (sorry to the OP for hijacking the thread somewhat!):

This is a true chocolate plec:

I have an adult male GT in a 55 gal and to be honest that's a tight squeeze. A 55 really is the minimum for these fish.

I am able to move him to a larger tank if neccessary, which was the only reason i put him in the 55 gal when he was a juvie.

Haha, I used to say chocolate albino plec but someone yelled at me that there was no such thing and honestly I couldnt find more than two or three pts of info on its name being this so I just figured it was a chocolate. But thanks for re-inforcing the idea that it is really a chocolate albino!

o and P.S.... I'm sorry too for semi-hijacking the thread :p

And I do agree with this as well. They can live in a 55G....just the quality of life for a 8 to 10" fish in something like this is very minimal.... Like being in one room of your house with no doors (so you cant leave :p )

For a green terror I say no less than a 48x18x18 75g. They can get 8"+ and are active fish. I'm sure I'ev seen pics of larger GT's around 11" though I can't remember where.

I wouldnt have a green terror with ropefish. They'd be lunch or just something to kill for fun for him.
